Life has a way of letting you know you are not in control – in fact, you can be placed in a defenseless, despicable situation in the blink of an eye.  The iguana personified the reactions that should be taken in the powerless situations we get tangled in. Those attributes are being strong, calm and fearless no matter what life throws at you. Thoughts of "Izzie" with her scales, spikes, claws and positive attitude were a great comfort to me during my time of
vulnerability, trapped by the
uncontrollable situation. Way to go Izzie!

Process: hand painted with pigment ink; domestic machine quilted
photo of the piece before the the background was painted and the enhancement of quilting was added.
